New information about old Mercy

Community Development Director Jackson Kinney should have disclosed this information to the council and general public. By not doing so, he makes it look as though he (or "the city") was trying to hide something. Situations like this cause citizens to question their trust in government, and it was completely avoidable. Now a dark cloud will unnecessarily taint an otherwise positive project.

As a council member, I am deeply concerned this information was not shared with the council and community at-large. I will discuss with City Manager Richard Wollangk the ramifications of the situation and steps necessary to ensure it does not happen again.

  • Thanks Bryan, It is reassuring to know you as "our" Councilor will look further into the issue with city staff. It will make restoring trust in City Hall a lot more difficult. Time for Leadership. Good Luck.

  • MR Ganther with unpaid property taxes and questionable development
    proposals in Oshkosh:
    This man's reputation has a ally in city hall.

    Mr. Kinney did the city a great dis-service by not putting ALL the information on the table.

    City Staff are supposed to provide the City Council with ALL the information it needs to make good decisions. Providing the council with accurate and ALL relevant information is in the job description of City Staff.

    I think it is time for Kinney to step aside and let the city hire someone new to take on this very important position within city government.
    He has lost all credibility and added fuel to the "trust" issues in City Hall.

    Clearly our council will doubt any information from Mr. Kinney in the future.
    The City of Oshkosh has much to lose by keeping him on staff.

    Restoring trust;
    Ask for Mr. Jackson Kinney’s resignation.

  • Mr. Ganther is a perfect example of "having his way" with City Hall. He's been granted "favors" for years. He's not the only one. Will this end? That's very questionable. As for Mr. Kinney, he is simply one of many Dept. heads that follow their own rules.

  • There is no way to sssure this will not happen again. The same people have been doing this for years. The time for talk is over. Our city staff laughs at the council. Please take some action.
