Rohloff Named City Manager

The council today voted unanimously to appoint Mark Rohloff, currently the Town Administrator of Grand Chute, the next Oshkosh city manager. Congratulations Mark!

It was the strong consensus of the council that Mark was the best of the best. Karl Nollenberger, Vice President of the PAR Group, the executive search firm hired to coordinate the search process, did an extraordinary job bringing us top notch, quality candidates. All five finalists are highly qualified city manager candidates, and I thank every one of them for expressing an interest in Oshkosh. I believe the strong interest generated in the city manager position bodes well for the city of Oshkosh.

From my perspective, Mark has the qualities and attributes necessary to lead Oshkosh forward; he is the right guy at the right time. His education, experience and enthusiasm are exactly what Oshkosh needs. I look forward to working with Mark, and for Mark to start working with the staff, council and citizens of Oshkosh. Mark officially will start as city manager on August 4th.

One final note, I want to thank the approximately 30 citizens who showed up today for the citizen forum. I appreciate your interest in the process, and valued hearing your opinions. I also want to thank city staff for their assistance, especially Sue Brinkman from Administrative Services.
